John 3:16 (ESV)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Talk About It
Have you ever received a special gift from someone who loves you? Today’s verse is about the greatest gift ever—Jesus! God loves every single person in the world, even when we make mistakes. That’s why He sent Jesus, His only Son, to save us and give us new life.
Just like a parent or friend might give you something to show their love, God gave us Jesus to show His love in a way that cost Him dearly. The Bible tells us Jesus died on the cross for us—He took all our wrongs on Himself because God loves us that much! God’s love isn’t just a nice feeling; it is strong and does something truly amazing for us. When we believe in Jesus, we get eternal life—we can be God’s friends forever and ever. We never have to be afraid of not being loved or accepted, because God’s love in Jesus never runs out. That’s how much you mean to Him!
For Parents to Explain
Dear God, thank You for loving the world so much that You gave us Jesus. Help us remember Your special love every day. Amen.
