Psalm 34:8 (ESV)

[8] Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Talk About It

Have you ever tasted something yummy for the first time and wanted everyone else to try it, too? The Bible says knowing God is like that—so good you want to keep "tasting" His goodness again and again! God wants us to know Him not just in our heads, but in our hearts. When you trust God and spend time with Him, you discover how wonderful, loving, and faithful He really is. David, who wrote this psalm, knew that being close to God brings blessing—both now and forever. God gives us little previews of what heaven will be like: feeling His love, hearing His voice, and seeing Him work in our lives. We don’t have to wait until heaven to enjoy God’s goodness. Every time we pray, worship, or live God’s way, we "taste and see" how good He is right now!

For Parents to Explain

Dear God, thank You that You are so good! Help us to taste and see Your goodness every day, and remind us You are always with us. Amen.
